Meatballs and Aunt Jennie's Punch

Here we are at Graduation time once again. Time seems to go by faster every year. Our children graduated in 1988 and 1990 and what a special days that was in our family. There were decisions to be made about their future, where they would go college, parties to be planned so the whole family could share in this wonderful occasion! It certainly was a very busy time. I have had several people ask for appetizers and beverage recipe for their special events. So I am writing about a couple today that our family really enjoys and they are ever so easy!

This first recipe is a simple recipe and such a delicious appetizer. The flavor and texture of these babies are absolutely awesome! No matter what kind of gathering I take these to, they always disappear. It doesn’t matter if I make 4 or 5 dozen they always gone before the other dishes.

The second recipe is almost too simple to make and very refreshing. The major work in this one is keeping it made fast enough for your guest! I have served it at weddings and graduations alike and you just can’t go wrong with this one.

Meatballs

3 LBS HAMBURGER

1 CUP CRACKER CRUMBS

1 CUP OATS

¾ CUP GREEN PEPPER

¾ CUP ONIONS (CHOPPED UP FINE)

2 EGGS

1 CAN MILNOT

2 TABLESPOONS CHILI POWDER

SALT & PEPPER TO TASTE

MIX ALL INGREDIENTS ABOVE AND ROLL INTO BALLS (SET A SIDE)

SAUCE

1 ½ CUPS BROWN SUGAR

2 CUPS CATSUP

PLACE MEATBALLS IN A SINGLE LAYER IN BAKING DISHES AND COVER WITH SAUCE. BAKE @ 325 DEGREES FOR 1 HOUR. ENJOY!

Aunt Jennie's Punch

3 BOTTLES 7UP

½ GALLON OF SHERBET

( I USUALLY USE RASPBERRY BUT IF YOU WANT TO COORDINATE YOUR PUNCH WITH SCHOOL COLORS OR WEDDING COLORS YOU CAN USE ANY FLAVOR SHERBET TO CHANGE THE COLOR OF YOUR BARRAGE ,RASPBERRY FOR PINK, LIME FOR GREEN, AND SO ON.)

LET SHERBET SOFTEN A LITTLE AND PUT YOUR CHILLED 7UP IN A LARGE PUNCH BOWL AND SCOOP THE SHERBET IN AND STIR, IT WILL BECOME FROTHY AND LOOK SO LOVELY. ENJOY!

AUNT VIRGINIAS PUNCH

2 PACKAGES LIME KOOL-AID

2 CUPS SUGAR

2 QUARTS WATER

46OZ. UNSWEETENED PINEAPPLE JUICE

2 QUARTS 7UP OR GINGER ALE

ADD VODKA OR GIN TO YOUR LIKING. ENJOY!

NOW FOR THOSE ADULTS THAT WANT A LITTLE KICK IN THEIR PUNCH, THIS IS A VERY REFRESHING ALCOHOLIC DRINK MY AUNT GINNY GAVE ME YEARS AGO. GOD BLESS AUNT GINNY SHE HAS BLESSED US IN SO MANY WAYS. THIS IS A GREAT DRINK ON A HOT SUMMER DAY AT A COOK OUT OR AT A BIG GATHERING. ENJOY
