Police investigate sexual assault on a juvenile

INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) investigates a sexual assault on a juvenile female on the North East side.

Just before 7:00 a.m. on 9.22.17 Officers with IMPD was called to the 5600 block of East 38th street reference a sexual assault.  Officers spoke to a 13-year old girl who said she was waiting for the school bus when a male, unknown to her, approached and forced her to a nearby location where he sexually assaulted her.  The male described as a tall, thin African American male, wearing black pants and a black shirt then fled the area in a Northwest direction on foot.

Child Abuse Detectives responded and began canvassing the area for witnesses and continue to investigate this incident.  The Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency responded to assist in identifying and collecting potential evidence.
