Park Rededicates Fountain
Pendleton,Indiana (June 24, 2012) – Falls Park Superintendent, Ron Barnhart, today rededicated a fountain that was first placed in the park in 1925. According to Ron, when the fountain was originally installed the total cost was $500.00.
With the financial help of a local civic organization, the Lions Club (Story), the fountain located on what was once know as “Rose Walk” has now been restored back to its original condition as it first was in 1925. The only difference is that, unlike then, the water used in the fountain is recycled.
Before the ceremony I as Ron about how long it had been since it was operational. He said over the years he had spoken with several area residents, some of whom have lived in Pendleton since the fifties, and none of them can remember the fountain working.
Next time you’re at the park be sure to take a look at it. The fountain is located at the entrance to Falls Park off of Pendleton Avenue.
