New Road Will Allow Easier Access For Residents

News UpdateAnderson, Indiana (July 20, 2012) This coming Monday at 9 a.m., on the east side of  Scatterfield Road and 32nd Street, Mayor Kevin S. Smith, City Engineer Mike Spyers, Dina Hartley (spokeswoman for the Sunset Gardens road project) and other city officials will meet for the ground breaking of a new connector to Sunset Boulevard at 32nd Street .

Residents of Sunsets Gardens had petitioned the city for a street that allowed them easier access in and out of Scatterfield Road. Currently they are using Sunset Boulevard to access Scatterfield Road, but high traffic, no stoplights, and a median blocking any left turn attempt is what motivated the citizens of Sunset Gardens to petition the city for a new 32nd Street connector to Sunset Boulevard.

The 45-day project will begin Monday when city officials gather to break ground for the 32nd Street connector, Badders Drive, to Sunset Boulevard.
