Look Out for INDOT Paving Crews Next Week on I-70

Weather permitting, Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) maintenance crews plan to pave sections of U.S. 40 (Main Street) in Centerville on Monday, July 24.

On Tuesday, July 25, crews plan to pave sections of U.S. 27 North from Richmond’s southern city limit to U.S. 40 East (South A Street).

Parking in these areas will be temporarily prohibited while paving takes place between about 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Drivers in the area should be alert for slow or stopped traffic, flaggers directing traffic around work sites, and workers and equipment in the roadway. Consider alternate routes to avoid the road work and potential delays.

One lane of eastbound and westbound I-70 will be closed for spot paving various locations between State Road 3 Exit 123 (New Castle) and State Road 1 Exit 137 (Cambridge City) on Wednesday, July 26 and Thursday, July 27 between about 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Drivers on I-70 should check before leaving and consider alternate routes to avoid road work and potential delays. Interstate drivers should avoid all distractions, pay attention advanced work zone warning signs, maintain a safe speed and following distance, and be alert for slow traffic and backups.
