Sergeant's(R) Pet Care Products and Pet Specialist Steve Dale Announce Grand Prize Winner of Sergeant's 'Splish Splash' Photo Contest

Bulldogs from Oregon Take Other Contestants to the Cleaners

OMAHA, Neb., July 27 /PRNewswire/ -- One-year-old bulldogs Doc and Wyatt from Bend, Oregon are this year's grand-prize winners of the Sergeant's Pet Care Products "Splish Splash" Photo contest. Pet specialist Steve Dale served as the celebrity judge in the eight week contest.

"Selecting a winner was a lot harder than I thought it would be," says Dale. "It's pretty tough to look at nearly 500 pictures of cute dogs and pick the best of the best. But, for me, Doc and Wyatt just stood out from the rest."

Three winners were selected each week and received an Ooh La La!(TM) doggie gift basket of boutique items, as well as a spot in the final round. As the grand prize winners, Doc and Wyatt receive a custom portrait of themselves, painted by a professional artist from http://www.artpaw.com/.

"Oh, the boys and I are so excited," says Deborah Sprague, Doc and Wyatt's owner. "I just have to make sure they don't let this go to their heads! In all seriousness, and ironically, we lost our bulldog, Avalanche, last year, so we had an artist paint a picture of him," says Sprague. "That picture is hanging in our dining room. Now Doc and Wyatt will get to join Avalanche on our new 'Bulldog Wall of Fame,'" says Sprague.

"We really want to thank everyone who participated in the contest and Steve Dale for serving as the celebrity judge," says Caryn Stichler, vice president of marketing at Sergeant's. "It was a lot of fun and a great way to celebrate the relationship we have with our pets."
