Full Plow Truck Call-Out Planned Tonight Ahead of Wintry Precipitation.

The Indiana Department of Transportation's East Central District is preparing for a full call-out of plow trucks for tonight's wintry precipitation.INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Department of Transportation’s East Central District is preparing for a full call-out of plow trucks for tonight’s wintry precipitation.

The National Weather Service is predicting 1-2 inches of snow and freezing rain late this evening and overnight into Wednesday morning’s commute.

INDOT trucks have been out pre-treating the roads with salt and patrolling for potential slick spots. Most of INDOT East Central District’s trucks will be on Full Call status by midnight tonight. INDOT crews will continue to monitor the forecast/conditions and make adjustments to resources as needed.

INDOT officials reminds Hoosiers to drive defensively, plan extra travel time, drive slowly and be on constant alert for icy patches and black ice on roadways. Take it slow when approaching intersections, off-ramps, bridges or shady areas – all are hot spots for black ice.
