INDOT Plow Trucks at Full Call-Out Today

INDIANAPOLIS – The Greenfield District will have over 100 plow trucks in operation this afternoon for snow-fighting activities. The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) reminds motorists to be cautious while traveling this weekend.

The National Weather Service is predicting approximately 2-4 inches of snow Friday night into Saturday morning around the Greenfield District. 179 trucks will be available as maintenance crews continue to monitor the weather through the weekend.

Current pavement temperatures are between 14 and 20 degrees Fahrenheit. Expected hazards are slick roads and reduced visibility in heavy snowfall.

Know before you go.
Learn about current and forecasted weather, as well as roadway conditions before driving. Plan ahead. INDOT offers many resources at winter.indot.in.gov to help drivers be prepared.

Keep a safe distance.
Make sure your vehicle is following a safe distance to stop. Do not tailgate, especially around snow plows.

Pay attention.
Avoid all distractions and focus only on the task of driving safely. Be defensive and alert for those who are not driving safely.
