INDOT On Full Call Status Through Mix of Precipitation

INDIANAPOLIS – The Greenfield District will have over 110 plow trucks in operation this evening for snow-fighting activities. The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) reminds motorists to be cautious while traveling tonight and tomorrow morning as a mix of freezing rain, sleet and snow is expected to impact the Monday morning commute across central Indiana.

The National Weather Service is predicting approximately 1-2 inches of snow along with a tenth of an inch of ice, leading to hazardous conditions on roadways. 175 trucks will be available as maintenance crews continue to monitor the weather through the weekend.
Current pavement temperatures are between 25 and 32 degrees Fahrenheit. Expected hazards are slick roads and reduced visibility in heavy snowfall.

Know before you go.

Keep a safe distance.
Make sure your vehicle is following a safe distance to stop. Do not tailgate, especially around snow plows.

Avoid all distractions and focus only on the task of driving safely. Be defensive and alert for those who are not driving safely.
