INDOT East Central Indiana Interstate Closure Update

I-65

South Side I-465 Interchange

Starting Thursday, Aug. 3 at 9 p.m. until Friday, Aug. 4 at 6 a.m., the I-465 East ramp to I-65 South will be closed, and the I-465 West ramp to I-65 South will have one lane closed, as crews shift ramp lanes toward the right. During the ramp closure, eastbound traffic will continue to Emerson Avenue Exit 52 and return westbound on I-465 to access I-65 South.

Starting Saturday, Aug. 5 at 9 p.m. until Sunday, Aug. 6 at 6 a.m., I-65 South will be reduced to one open lane as crews modify pavement markings to shift two lanes onto a new southbound bridge over I-465. Weather permitting, southbound traffic will be shifted into Phase 2 before Monday, Aug. 7.

Northbound traffic will remain in its current configuration for about two more weeks as crews prepare to divert three northbound lanes across the median to share the southbound half of the interstate. Opposing directions of traffic will be separated by temporary concrete barriers. Downtown Indianapolis

I-65 may be reduced to one lane for paving between Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street Exit 117 and the I-70 North Split from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. on weeknights and from midnight to 9 a.m. on weekends.  for pavement repairs and resurfacing. http://bit.ly/2tG4HTq


I-69

Northeast Side I-465 Interchange

I-69 Major Moves 2020 Project from State Road 37 to State Road 38

I-69 may be reduced to one lane in each direction each night between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. The I-69 Major Moves 2020 construction zone has overnight lane closures, shifted travel lanes, and reduced speed limits while an additional lane is built in each direction between State Road 37 Exit 205 and State Road 38 Exit 219. http://www.in.gov/indot/3440.htm

Pleasant Creek Bridges at State Road 332 (McGalliard Road)

I-69 South is reduced to one lane at State Road 332 (McGalliard Road) Exit 241 for bridge construction. All interchange ramps are open. Both directions have shifted traffic lanes and reduced speed limits for bridge construction. http://bit.ly/2uBdVTF


I-70

IND Int’l Airport & Ronald Reagan/Ameriplex Parkway

The following traffic restrictions are scheduled for this weekend starting starting at 9 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 4 until 6 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 7:

  • The Col. H. Weir Cook Memorial Drive (Indianapolis International Airport) ramp to I-70 East will have one lane closed.
  • The I-70 East Exit 68A ramp to Col. H. Weir Cook Memorial Drive (Indianapolis International Airport) and Ronald Reagan Parkway will have one lane closed at the bridge immediately west of Ronald Reagan/Ameriplex Parkway.

I-70 East of Indianapolis

Multiple bridge construction projects on Interstate 70 between Indianapolis and Ohio have overnight lane closures, shifted traffic lanes and reduced work zone speed limits near Post Road (Exit 91), State Road 9 (Exit 104), mile marker 112, State Road 109 (Exit 115), State Road 1 (Exit 137) and mile marker 154.5 between State Road 227 (Exit 153) and U.S. 40 (Exit 156).

Drivers may consider using U.S. 40 as an alternate route to avoid construction and potential delays.

Brandywine Creek at State Road 9 Exit 104 (Greenfield)

The State Road 9 entrance ramp to Interstate 70 East will be closed for about two months starting on Friday, Aug. 4. The ramp is expected to remain closed for the remainder of construction at the Brandywine Creek bridges immediately east of the State Road 9 Exit 104 (Greenfield) interchange.

Motorists should use U.S. 40 as an alternate route or as a detour to access I-70 East at another interchange. Electronic message signs will advise interstate motorists that State Road 9 has no re-entry to I-70 East. lnks.gd/2/5Dj3XN 

All lanes of I-70 in both directions are temporarily shifted to the left, toward the median. The speed limit is reduced to 45 MPH through the work zone. One lane may be closed in each direction between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m.

Six Mile Creek at Mile 112 & Montgomery Creek at State Road 109 Exit 115 (Knightstown)

The right lane of I-70 East will be closed between mile 112 and State Road 109 Exit 115 (Knightstown) starting at 9 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 4 until 6 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 7. At the same time, the State Road 109 entrance ramp to I-70 East will be closed. http://bit.ly/2v0sHU9

All eastbound traffic will be diverted to the left lane during the weekend closure. The left lane of I-70 East is temporarily diverted across the median at mile 112 to share the westbound side of the interstate with the opposing direction of traffic separated by concrete barriers. The right lane will remain closed for about three miles until after the Montgomery Creek bridge east of State Road 109 Exit 115 (Knightstown). http://bit.ly/2hrrrVq

I-74
