INDOT, City of Greenfield Plan Removal of SR 9 & North St. Traffic Signal

GREENFIELD, Ind. – In the next 30 days, the Indiana Department of Transportation, in conjunction with the City of Greenfield, expects to remove the traffic signal at SR 9 and North Street.

INDOT’s Traffic Department staff has closely monitored the intersection and found that both congestion and safety will be improved along the SR 9 corridor with the removal of the North Street signal.

The city of Greenfield and INDOT will continue to work jointly to update phasing at the SR 9 and US 40 intersection to further minimize congestion in the downtown area.

INDOT will continue to monitor issues at the location and will continue to investigate improvements that can be made to pedestrian facilities there.
