From Rita’s Kitchen: A Simple and Easy Salad

I had small group here last night which was a small 19 (When we started out at 8 so it has grown in the last few months). I think they just like to eat.  LOL. Well I decided to have a cook out because the weather was so nice…can you believe 70 middle week, I think I will barbecue some ribs out side.

I fixed this salad that I love to fix when I cook out. This salad is so refreshing and GOOD.

Every cook knows that when you cut up vegetables your hands are going to smell like them. Last year when I had my missionaries here.  Diana said, “Wash your hands with a little bit of bleach and bleach is better then the smell of veggies on your hands…and it did work.”

Last night. Rick Wright one of our small group members, him and his wife are dear people and she is a wonderful cook! Well he took a butter knife out of the drawer and told me to rub the butter knife in between my hands with cold running water. WOW it worked no more veg smell and no harsh chemicals! I was so thankful for that info. You never get to old to learn I guess. Well here is the recipe if you want to try it…It is wonderful and so easy and no cooking.

2 green mango’s

1 large onion

2 cucumbers

4 tomatoes

2 tablespoons of garlic salt or to taste

1/2 cup olive oil

3 tablespoons Perfect Pinch Salad Supreme seasoning ( I use McCormick)

Feta Cheese

Dice all veggies; add oil and seasoning in bowl let sit in the refrigerator till chilled add feta cheese before serving.

Enjoy

About the Author

- George Price has been publishing the Pendleton-Gazette since 2008. I was raised in central Indiana, Richmond to be more exact, around a auto repair business. Moved to Muncie when I began my career with State Farm Insurance (Best gig I ever had). Stayed with State farm for almost 25 years and then went back into the auto repair business in Indianapolis for 5 more years. Now I'm on a new journey in that I publish a weekly news magazine, the Pendleton-Gazette.com. That too is a very cool thing. I am learning something new almost every day. I am also quite taking with Social Media's growth and what makes it tick.
