Anderson, Indiana – Today the Mayor announced the most recent addition to his administration. Ashley Hopper will serve as the new Deputy Director for Economic Development, effective May 7.

“Economic Development is a vital part of my administration and Mrs. Hopper’s proven experience and leadership gives me great confidence in her ability to perform as Deputy Director for the department,’” Mayor Kevin S. Smith said.

“We are lucky to have Mrs. Hopper! She has a tireless work ethic and an attitude of service which will benefit Anderson,” Greg Winkler, Interim-Economic Development Director, said.

Ashley Hopper graduated with her Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Ohio Northern University College of Law May 2008 and went on to secure a LL.M. in Agricultural Law from the University of Arkansas in 2009. Ashley has served in various positions in Anderson throughout the Madison County Court system earning high praise from legal, business and community leaders alike.

In addition to her legal skills, Mrs. Hopper brings proven organizational and management experience with an eye for details, all skills which are required for constant quality control and assurance. Her legal expertise will enable her to provide in-house structure of Economic Development Proposals, MOU’s, Project Development Agreements and Contracts.

Mrs. Hopper will provide assistance with and review of the City’s Community Development operations as Mr. Floyd Edwards continues to move the CD department forward towards full staffing and operation.

- George Price has been publishing the Pendleton-Gazette since 2008. I was raised in central Indiana, Richmond to be more exact, around a auto repair business. Moved to Muncie when I began my career with State Farm Insurance (Best gig I ever had). Stayed with State farm for almost 25 years and then went back into the auto repair business in Indianapolis for 5 more years. Now I'm on a new journey in that I publish a weekly news magazine, the Pendleton-Gazette.com. That too is a very cool thing. I am learning something new almost every day.
