East Central Indiana Interstate Construction Closure Update

South Side I-465 Interchange

Two lanes of I-65 South are shifted onto a new southbound bridge over I-465, and three lanes of I-65 North remain on the northbound side of the interstate. I-65 North traffic will remain in its current configuration for about two more weeks as crews prepare to divert three northbound lanes across the median to share the southbound half of the interstate. Opposing directions of traffic will be separated by temporary concrete barriers. A specific date for the northbound Phase 2 switch will be announced.

I-65 traffic is expected to remain in the Phase 2 configuration through the end of the project. Bridge construction is expected to be substantially complete, with all lanes and ramps open to traffic, before the end of this year.
