CrazyLake Acting Co. presents ”The Drowsy Chaperone”

GREENFIELD — The CrazyLake Acting Co. returns to the Ricks Centre with “The Drowsy Chaperone,” a delightful Tony awarding-winning musical within a comedy. Come and spend a heartwarming evening with the Man in the Chair (Trever Brown) as he shares his favorite Broadway cast recording of “The Drowsy Chaperone” with you, the audience.

Scenes come to life in the living room as Janet Van De Graaf (Elizabeth Orr) vows to quit show business — much to the chagrin of her manager Feldzeig (Jake Hobbs) — to marry her fiancé, Robert Martin (Austin Fisher.) The Chaperone (Noelle Steele) and the Best Man George (Matt Little) are tasked with keeping the two lovebirds apart, while Feldzeig faces a threat from gangsters dressed as chefs (Jim Vetters, Corey Yeaman). Feldzeig’s girlfriend Kitty (Alexandra Kern) insists she can take Janet’s place on the silver screen, while the Underling (Ross McMichael) tries to keep absent-minded Mrs. Tottendale (Carie McMichael) focused on the upcoming wedding. Rounding out the cast are Aldolpho (Luke Agee), Trix the Aviatrix (Jamie McDowell), the Superintendent (Chuck Marion), the Dance Corps (Maggie Brown, Rylie Gendron, Erin Hays, Caitlin Van Overberghe) and the Ensemble (Austin Baker, Avi Hull, Frances Hull.)

Performances are July 13, 14, 15 and 21 at 7:30 p.m.; July 16 and 22 at 2:30 p.m. All performances are at the H.J. Ricks Centre for the Arts at 122 W. Main St. in Greenfield. Advanced sale tickets are available at Hometown Comics (1506 N. State St.) or crazylake.com for $10; tickets will be $12 at the door.
