Car “Rides” Guardrail Before Rolling Over

Muncie – A Milton woman received minor injuries this morning after the car she was driving drove up onto a guard rail for approximately 84’ before rolling off and over a grassy embankment.  Around 7:42 a.m. this morning Master Trooper Kyle West was on the Muncie Bypass, near the Hoyt Rd. exit, when he overheard the Delaware County dispatch of a rollover crash on the exit from the NB lanes of the Bypass to Hoyt Rd.

West arrived to find the 2010 Honda CRV, driven by Linda Locke, age 72 of Milton, over the guardrail on its side. The early investigation showed that the vehicle was exiting the Bypass onto Hoyt when, for an unknown reason, it drove up the end on the guardrail and skidded along the top of the guardrail approximately 84’ before rolling off into the grass. Locke was transported to I.U. Health’s Ball Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.

Master Trooper West was assisted at the scene by the Delaware County Sheriff’s Department and the Monroe Twp. Fire Department.
