Brooks School Road and Madison County Road 650 West Bridges Over I-69 Close for Construction After Memorial Day

Campus Parkway Traffic Pattern at I-69 Exit 210 Shifts to Double-Crossover Diamond TONIGHT. Interchange remains under construction through July.

Milestone Contractors plans to close the Brooks School Road and Madison County Road 650 West bridges over Interstate 69 for construction after Memorial Day.

The Brooks School Road overpass is scheduled to close starting May 30 to rebuild the bridge deck. During the closure, traffic will be detoured to Promise Road via 126th and 136th streets.

The Madison County Road 650 West overpass is scheduled to close on June 2 for bridge maintenance and preservation. During the closure, traffic will be detoured to State Road 38/State Street and Fall Creek Drive.

Both bridges are scheduled to open in early August to minimize impacts to school transportation. For more information about the projects, and to see maps of the closures and detour routes, go to

The Campus Parkway interchange at Interstate 69 Exit 210 is now shifted into a double-crossover diamond traffic pattern. The Campus Parkway interchange will remain under construction and is expected to be fully open to traffic in its permanent configuration later this summer.

Multiple traffic lane shifts will be required in the upcoming months to complete remaining construction of the new interchange design. Each phase of remaining construction will bring the interchange closer to its final traffic configuration and capacity.

Added travel lane construction

Overpass construction and reconfiguring Campus Parkway at I-69 to a double-crossover diamond interchange is part of the $92 million I-69 Major Moves 2020 project adding a travel lane to each direction of I-69 between State Road 37 (Exit 205) and State Road 38 (Exit 219). In addition, other improvements are being made to rehabilitate existing bridges, pavement and drainage structures on the 15-mile stretch of interstate.

Interstate lane closures for construction can be expected during overnight hours (8 p.m. to 6 a.m.). Two lanes of traffic in each direction of I-69 are currently shifted to accommodate construction of the additional travel lanes. Signs direct large trucks to use the left lane while traffic is shifted toward the right shoulder through the work zone. The speed limit is reduced to 60 mph and further reduced to 50 mph when workers are present.
