8th Street Repaving Project

ANDERSON – IN – Mayor Thomas Broderick, Jr. has announced that the 8th Street Paving Project has now begun.

The mayor had previously announced that the city would be repaving 8th Street from Rangeline Road to Winding Way beginning this summer with the utilization of funds the city had receive through the State’s Community Crossings Matching Grant program. The total cost of the project is $2.2 million.

The initial work on the project has begun with construction of ADA approved curb ramps that provide for accessibility for individuals with disabilities. The ramp work began on the east side of the city and will move to the west.  The ramp work is expected to take approximately 3 weeks to complete.
Paving of the street will begin once the curb work is completed.  Mayor Broderick stated, “This is an important improvement to one of our major roads. We are fortunate to have secured a major portion of the funding from the state.”

The city will continue to update residents about the project during construction.
